The Gemini Bakery Equipment Company was established in 1972 by its C.E.O., Mark Rosenberg. The Rosenberg family has been in the bakery equipment business since 1911 with the establishment of the Quaker Bakery Equipment Company by Mr. Rosenberg’s grandfather. 

Gemini is the largest and fastest growing designer and provider of specialty bread and roll equipment and systems in North America.  

Gemini has enjoyed long-term relationships with hundreds of specialty bakers since the "early days."  Gemini's growth is just as attributable to its preferred supplier relationship with these bakers, whose own businesses have continued to grow. 

Gemini significantly expanded its product and technical base in 1988 through a partial equity sale agreement with Werner & Pfleiderer, the German manufacturer of premium bakery equipment.  Gemini increased its manufacturing base in 1999 with the purchase of Eastern Bakery Systems, a custom bakery equipment designer and fabricator located in York, Pennsylvania.  In 2001, Gemini purchased the designs and manufacturing rights to all equipment previously manufactured by Baking Machines.  In 2003, Ken Johnson was promoted to President. 

Gemini created strategic alliances with a number of key foreign and domestic manufacturing suppliers such as Alitech (Italy), Sveba-Dahlén (Sweden), Werner & Pfleiderer (Germany), and ABI, Ltd. (Canada).  These unique partnerships have culminated in easily serviceable, "Americanized" bakery equipment that offers the European quality, reliability and durability that American bakers have come to rely on.

The technical support from Gemini's foreign and domestic manufacturers is an important ingredient to Gemini's success.  Gemini's partners have the financial strength to make significant investments in the development of new equipment and technology.  Our unique partnerships allow us access to global technology developed in the North American and European markets. 

Gemini's technical competence, creativity, and product knowledge are its strength.  Gemini's professional team of salespeople, engineers, and project managers support sales of individual equipment as well as multi-million dollar installations throughout North America.  Our Customer Service Department provides a full range of parts and field technician services.  Spare parts are stocked in Gemini's Philadelphia and York, Pennsylvania facilities.

Gemini provides a full range of project services from conceptual engineering design through project management and startup of large, automated installations.  Gemini's projects have ranged up to $15,000,000 in contract value.

Gemini - Creative Technology and Service for the Baking Industry

Werner & Pfleiderer - Haton was established in 1949 and is a subsidiary of Werner & Pfleiderer.  The company is located in Helden-Panningen in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands.  140 employees work on the development, planning, production, sales and service of dough make-up systems for the production of a wide variety of products. Good engineering practice, state-of-the art production methods and a strict quality control system guarantee an absolute top quality of Werner & Pfleiderer - Haton products.

Sveba-Dahlén, founded in 1948, develops, markets and manufactures ovens for the baking and food service industry.   A different division of the company supplies a full range of bakery equipment for the wholesale and retail industries.

As the developer of the world's first rotating rack oven and the overhead rotating devices, Sveba-Dahlén is a leading manufacturer of rack ovens.  The all-stainless steel design of the Sveba-Dahlén oven has set the standard for all rack ovens produced today.

Werner & Pfleiderer, Germany, has been a supplier of equipment and services to the world's baking industries since 1879.  Its traditional "Grundlichkeit" in the design and manufacturing practice is evidence in the high quality roll equipment of the Dinkelsbühl facility and the well-known tunnel ovens made in the Stuttgart facility.

Established in 1990, ABI, Ltd. is a progressive, food processing equipment manufacturer. They specialize in automation of baking processes. Their innovative equipment solutions are remarkably cost effective and user friendly.  Gemini Bakery Equipment Company and ABI, Ltd. announced a joint engineering, manufacturing and marketing agreement between the two firms.  This agreement will allow Gemini and ABI to offer the latest generation of industrial bagel manufacturing equipment that incorporates the “best of the best” design.
